When you are a teenager acne and breakouts of spots can be the bane of your life due to fluctuating hormone levels. They can also occur during your thirties due to lifestyle factors. Either way a little bit of attention to your skincare routine will go a long way in helping get a balance back into your skin.

To help to alleviate acne or individual spots try one of the medicated products for sale that are in most pharmacies, they contain ingredients which have been shown to help get rid of the spots.

If that fails then your doctor would be able to recommend different treatments till you can find one that works for you. One treatment worth trying is acai berry skin care creams. The acai berry is known as a super food and provides lots of vital antioxidants. In skin care cream form it has been shown to slow the ageing process of the skin and to help reduce acne. You can buy acai berry from pharmacies.

There are also various night cream products that are worth trying. The skin heals itself and regenerates whilst you are asleep so it makes sense that a topical lotion applied prior to going to bed would be of some benefit to your skin.

Beauty perfumes are put into creams to make them smell good, and whilst this is fine for a lot of people, in some people with sensitive or spot prone skin, it can make the problem worse.

Whilst creams and ointments that do not contain perfume do not smell as good they are much better for acne break outs and won't cause any drying of the skin.

For general skin care the best thing to do is to cleanse tone and moisturise morning and evening. There are many options for cleansing. You can use special cloths that exfoliate gently whilst cleansing, or use a cream or lotion wiped off with cotton wool, facial wipes that come in a packet or foaming cream washes.

Not everyone likes to use a toner on their skin as they can be quite astringent and make the skin feel taut and over the past few years they are not used as much as they used to be, this is down to personal preference.

One of the main ways to keep skin looking good is to always use a moisturiser day and night. As with cleansers use one for your skin type and be aware that skin will become drier in the winter months and so a thicker cream may be needed then. Night creams are worth using in the night and you will see a significant improvement in the appearance of your skin after just a nights use of one.
